We want everyone who visits the Kyotosumi website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding, going above and beyond the recommendations stated in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.

What Are We Doing?

To help make the Kyotosumi website a positive place for everyone, we refer to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, more compatible with assistive technology, and more user-friendly for everyone. The guidelines define three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA), and we have chosen Level A and AA as the target for the Kyotosumi website.

How Are We Doing?

We work continuously toward WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA conformance across the website, including our global elements, home page, collection pages, and product detail pages. Our review process includes manual testing with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver, alongside automated accessibility testing tools.

Some areas of our website are provided by third-party vendors, such as customer support, email and SMS, returns, product reviews, and our Heritage Club loyalty and rewards program, and we have learned that some of these may not yet be accessible or usable by everyone equally. We understand that all areas must comply with the WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA guidelines, and we will work with our vendors to update those areas as soon as possible.

We will monitor the website regularly to maintain our ongoing commitment to delivering a site that is accessible to the largest possible audience.
